About
We are a family who loves photography. Steven and I met in November 2000 and it was photography that brought us together. My camera stopped working and he fixed it.
We are often found at the Norfolk Botanical Gardens on a hunt for flowers, butterflies, dragonflies and more macro wonders. I love photography as does my husband.
We also are available for on location photography in the Hampton Roads area in Virginia. For pricing information and to schedule a consultation email us at spencer@smileshootprint.com and mention that you found us at Red Bubble.
I’ve been giving my soon to be 4-year-old daughter photography lessons. Izzy has a nature eye for photography and a real love for it. I can only image how good she’ll be once she’s older. She has produced some great photographs with her digital camera.
Steven shoots with a Canon digital Rebel XT with a variety of lenses, I shoot with the Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ3 with the lovely Leica lens and Izzy shoots with the Nikon Coolpix L18 (with insurance, of course).
Steven started his passion for photography in the 90’s while living in Pittsburgh, PA. He took a job at Foto Hut and quickly learned that he loved all aspects of photography from shooting to developing and printing. He learned about the different cameras and then worked as a photo center manager developing film and assisting people in purchasing the right camera to fit their needs. He’s photographed weddings, groups, families and more!
Heather also found out how awesome photography was in the 90’s. I took some photography classes and really enjoyed studying this art. I started on a Pentex SLR and developed and printing my work by hand. The dark room experience and regular assignments really helped expand this hobby of mine. I didn’t really get serious into photography until my daughter was born. Shooting roll after roll of film making sure to capture all the moments made me realize that digital was the way to go for me. I really enjoy maternity sessions and family portraits. Pregnant women glow and it’s amazing to see this and photograph this. Families are also amazing to witness together because of the closeness and bonds between them.
Izzy started lessons with me in February 2008. She started with my spare Lumix and we really had fun with our lessons. We branched out to the local gardens and eventually to the zoo. The zoo was a fatal trip for my Lumix and that’s when we realized she needed her own camera that came with insurance. She assisted with a wedding shoot that we did for family recently and some of her pictures were simply amazing. They were incredible enough to include in the hardbound album.
